Welcome to the Royal Gorge Region!

Welcome to Canon City and the Royal Gorge region. As director of Royal Gorge Attractions and the Canon City Colorado.com website, we're all looking forward to having you here in southern Colorado. The train is one of the regions most popular destination attractions, drawing over 100,000 visitors from around the world each year. The line was reopened in 1999 on one of the most famous portions of track in the world. The Royal Gorge Route quickly became a huge success due to the ownership team (a Colorado Company) with years of experience in the business, ensuring a quality scenic train experience. They offer a number of different classes of service and are open year round. The train depot is located at the west end of Canon City at the Santa Fe Depot off 3rd Street. This should be your first stop when visiting the Royal Gorge region.

The Royal Gorge Bridge is the world's highest suspension bridge and offers spectacular views of the Royal Gorge. The bridge is owned by the City of Canon City and located west of town on Highway 9, about 20-minutes from the train depot. The Bridge has a theme park and offers an aerial tram and the Skyrush skycoaster where you can swing out over the Royal Gorge. Great fun! The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is open year-round.
